good news

Seeing how we all like a bit of good news, I had another check up today today, and apparently i have a very healthly looking new cornea, and everything is hunky dory.

But with good news always comes bad news....I asked if I should be thinking about going back to work, kinda got a look of disgust that im still off! So thats it, 27th Dec, back to work for me

Enjoy the time off, that way you save annual leave entitlement and can have longer holidays next year and enjoy the fact you can see.

if only gareth....work for a supermarket, u dont get this time of year off (u do if ur sick), but you are right, i'll be able to see soon (and soon the company i work for will see too, see that they shouldnt have been so nasty to me in the past )

Glad all is going well for you Sarah.

Think yourself lucky that your company gives you time off when you're sick - I work at a Supermarket also and at this time of year you'd need to be physically unable to get to work to take the day off.. and even then i'm sure they'd still expect you to get there somehow! lol

My husband went back to work this week, so i am having to struggle by on my own
We did have a fab 3 weeks off together

I decided not to ask how long I should be off this time. I discovered last time that you don't just get signed off, but you also need to ask to be signed back on.

I saved up annual leave days and started back when I thought I was ready: actually a couple of days before my post op visit to the clinic.

I came to no harm, but do not reccoment this approach to others whose jobs may be less forgiving in nature than mine.

Kirsten - they had no choice to let me off, had to get my graft, but least ive missed the xmas madness!

anne - ur a fighter, u'll be fine on ur own, just keep that fingers of urs out your eye!

andrew - i think im ready, way to visit gp so will see what he says, but the time has came. was beginning to enjoy being a lady of leisure, even though practically 2 weeks of it were spent in hospital. least i've missed the christmas rush, and my first 2 weeks back will only be 3 day weeks, and then of course, i wont be able to do anything that involves bending or lifting or anything strenuous for at least another 6 weeks (just as well i work at a desk eh)

I work for a supermarket too (but at head office, so life is a bit easier )

Knowing the sort of work though that happens there I would like to remind you that you shouldn't be doing any lifting for a few weeks. Especially as you've already sprung a leak once

I'm sure HR will take whatever action they can to look after you, just make sure you keep them informed of what's going on.

john, i am the wages chief and personnel dogs body, so i will be fine, but as u are probably aware certain times of the day, means certain activities.....i hate participating anyway, so i'll be milking this for as long as i can. Can u give me a clue to what company u work for?
