Re: scheral lenses
Hello and welcome,
I've never worn sclerals so I hope someone who has will be along soon and give you the benefit of their experience. But my questions would be was this your first day of wearing them? How long did you wear them for? (with any new lenses you need to build up wearing time slowly). Have you got a follow up appointment in the near future? I think I'd be trying to contact my optometrist if your eyes are still bloodshot.

Re: scheral lenses
Hi there I have just been fitted with a scleral for my left eye but although the comfort is great I am having major problems with the lens smearing and misting up within about an hour of wearing it. The optom has fiddled with the fit and I was about to give up but have now been told to try preservative buffer free saline so I am going to give that a go.
How are you finding them?

Re: scheral lenses
Hi I had many years of sclerals get used to them slowly.
Because you have the lens fitted with a vault of saline behind it the saline you use when inserting is crucial. There are many reasons why your eye could be red and the wrong saline could be a reason.
I use Amidose. I used it when I had scleral lenses and I now have smaller profile 14 lenses and they have a small amount of saline under them so I stuck with it.
I have sensitive eyes and the solutions I use are critical to my lens comfort.
