I do have little corks hanging from one of my many hats, I must try it next time I visit Scotland although I have to say whenever I've visited previously the midges have packed their suitcases and gone on their own holidays :D
I quite like them for that because usually the little blighters ignore everyone else and use me for breakfast, dinner and tea plus the occaisional midnight feast.

Lesley.

someone gave me a tip for the corks, soak them in insect repellant, works a treat apparantly.
Live long and Prosper.

The only way I have ever found to repel midges is to stand next to a pipe smoker.

Hi Kerrie,

I too am in SoftPerm lenses and although they are my most favourite lenses out of the 10 or 12 different types I've tried (including soft lenses, piggy backs, hard lenses, scleral etc. etc.) I dont always get on with them.

Can I ask what solutions you are using? I was using Tesco's own solution for ages (believe it or not it was a very good solution) until just before Christmas they changed it and over the last few months my eyes have become intolerant to it - I may be wrong, it may not be the solutions but changing to a new solution has made my lens wearing a lot easier.

Last bank holiday weekend I swapped to AOSept Plus by CIBAVision - its a one bottle solution with a special disk in the case which neutralises the solution overnight.

There isnt any rubbing of the lenses or need for separate protein removal tablets - I think I may have removed some of the pain just by not cleaning them every night.

Good luck.

Somebody complimented me on my driving yesterday - they left a note on my windscreen "Parking Fine" which was nice.
KC managed with softperm lens in left eye, Intacs (2/11/07) in right eye

It is sauflon multi which was advised to me by the optoms. I am supposed to leave lenses in it over night then put them in in the morns no probs. but i found i need to rinse 3/4 times in saline before i can put them in. other wise as soon as they touch my eyes they flare up watering, going blood shot etc.
i then cant try for another half hour or so as i cant open my eyes.!!
