I have always gone the way of too much rather than too little with the drops, sometimes they seem to partly miss the eye so I do put another in just to be sure (I feel confident that an extra drop now and then isnt going to hurt when I've been on hourly 24 hours a day at times) but if you are worried phone Isabella. They also gave me the dexamethasone in bottle rather than the individual ones, only get 1 bottle on discharge and have to get the rest from G.P. It hasn't caused me a problem using the bottled version and have had no infections, still using them 4x daily now.
I only wore the shield the day of the op, then at night for the first week.
Your description of the redness is almost identical to my eye in the first few days, at a glance could not even tell I had had surgery, just a few marks under the top eyelid, and that was where it was most sore too. I put this down to the clamps they use to hold the eye wide open during the op.
Although I am still struggling with low vision, I am very pleased with how it has all gone and impressed with the care by the team, I think we are in very capable hands
