My eyes were very bloodshot for about a week after each graft - back to normal around day 7 or 8. But the golden rule with grafts, as Andrew and Lea have said, is to get things checked out if you have any concerns. Much better a false alarm than leaving it and then finding it was something that needed action.
All the best

Day 5 post op
Seen in clinic by Registrar, Bandage contact lens removed. Everything OK, bleeding quite normal for such a big graft (they removed the old graft plus all the remaining cornea to get rid of the diseased tissue). Back to hospital in 4/52 and continue with drops every 2 hrs.
Jackie says her eye is more comfortable now the bandage contact lens has been removed.

Today is not soon enough to do what should have been done yesterday - at least that is what my Granny used to say. Trouble is I need a 26 hr day and a nine day week just to keep up.

Day 6 Post op
Today we are hoping that with all jobs done, fridge etc stocked up and good weather forecast we can just chill out and plant a few seeds. Yesterday there was a cold wind and by tea time Jackie's eye was rather sore and dry. The drops fixed that and I am hoping the early night that followed also helped. Unlike Grandpa Clanger, Jackie has no vision at all in that eye at the moment just a fuzzy haze but I could just about detect the signs of the blood clots begining to clear when I had a very close look at her eye last night when I was putting her eye shield on.

Hi Bob
Glad to hear things are going well . I was lucky by the sound of it as they did not put a bandage lens in. Think the worst thing is every time I get a twinge your mind goes racing off. Trying to get a bench mark for what's normal healing and what's not
Thinking of you both keep us posted

I hope your Mrs' eyesight is coming along nicely and that she is seeing better. As a keratoconus patient who's developed an intolerance for my scleral lenses. I know how debilitating and restricting not being able to see properly can be.

One week on
Jackie's eye continues to improve and the blood clot is begining to break up. She still has no vision in that eye which is worrying her but it is early days and I suspect she will not see any better till all the blood clot has gone.
