Well in theory tomorrow is 'G' day assuming I don't get a phone call today to say the cornea is not suitable\been used in an emergency. Got me jim jams packed incase I have to stay in overnight . Nothing to do now but wait. All the jobs that I could do have been done, those that have not will have to wait. Can't decide if I am nervous or not. Only thing I can say is after a couple of bad days I know that I am doing the right thing. That is a good place to be, onwards and upwards

Re: Bag Packed
All done and back home. No pain as such but feels gritty. No problems with the general amazing stuff. I thought i would drift off but no. One minute they are telling me to think of a nice beach then someone is calling my name and its done. Vision is better than it was uncorrected a better kind of blurry with no ghosting (early days though and it will change one way or the other) . Tell you more tomorrow

Wow, Ian - it must have gone well if you're up to posting just hours after the op. This could be a record of the fastest post-graft post! I hope the next few days are just as good.

Re: Bag Packed
Morning Anne/All. The joy of an IPhone. I was really surprised how well I felt. It was a lot less painful than when I pulled the epithelium off in October. Bit gunky this morning but it's open and no major discomfort.
Trust me I am not out to set any records. Making sure I get plenty of rest today and don't do much not going to get sucked into a false sense of security. Lots of audio books ready with breaks every 100 minutes to put in the drops (there is even an IPhone app to remind me what to take and when. Sad I know but if it works then hey why not)

Re: Bag Packed
Hi All
All seems to be going well (touch wood). Went back yesterday for a quick check-up. All looks OK and the pressure is fine. Getting into the habit with getting the drops in. Scared to death If I am putting in to big or to small a drop. Resiting the temptation to add a second drop if it does not seem right. Just making sure I am regular and it will even its self out. Started them an hour earlier today as I was tired last night so had to get up put a lens in the other eye take the shield off and administer the drop, but the shield back on take the lens out all this at 21:30. It's like bringing a new baby home for the first time your never sure if you are doing things right and you feel a bit unprepared
Felt sore this morning but easing up now. Had a good look at the eye this morning. Couple of red marks under the upper lid but nothing major will keep a very close eye on it (pardon the pun). As I said on Bob's post it’s trying to get a bench mark what’s normal 48 hours after a major trauma to the eye. That’s not my call so will talk to the hospital if there is the slightest change. Everything else is fine no need for pain killers and took very few yesterday. I can walk outside in the sunshine with no problems.
Just need to sort my drops out. The hospital messed up and only gave me enough Dexamethasone to last till SUNDAY Eeeeek . The consultant gave me a prescription which I took to the chemist. She tried to give me bottles but I could have sworn they said to use the single dose ones for the first month. Chemist is checking with the hospital yesterday and ordering some if that’s the case. If not I'll get the bottle anyway but be extra careful to avoid touching the eye with the neck of the bottle. Other thing with a bottle is making sure I take it to work and bring it back at night. At least with the individual ones you can have some in both locations. Will have to invest in a 'man bag'
Vision irrelevant at the moment but I can count my fingers easily at arm’s length. When I was in recovery I could tell it was better than the uncorrected vision in my other eye so found I was using the new eye to pick up my biscuit and tea, The dog is lying 10 foot away from me and I can tell witch end it witch, wicked.
