Relaxing Incisions

I've been given the option of having "relaxing incisions" since my graft in 2005 - vision + 6 and have "tilting" effect with glasses. Has anyone else had them? To be honest I really don't like the idea of it, but if my vision can be helped it may be worth a try!

This was mentioned as an option to me 4 years ago, but was advised not to have it done unless no form of lens worked because he felt that the end result could not be guarenteed and said there was also a risk of rejection. That is just the opinion of one consultant mind and we know how variable those can be!

I got lucky and got good vision with RGP's and after getting sensitive to those I get better vision now with the K3 and KIC soft lenses.

I thought someone else had posted about this recently, and I've just found it. Have a look at a thread called 'slits being cut in cornea' posted on 5th October. Sounds like the same procedure. I hope it goes well if you do decide to go ahead.

Hi Andrew, good to see you again too I've been "visiting" the forum but not posting for a while. Unfortunately my son has inherited KC from me and had to have a corneal transplant in his right eye last month. He's 29 and considerably younger than I was when I had my first eye done. He's just been promoted Prison Officer but our consultant is happy for him to carry on with the training next month. Think I'll ask about incisions at my next appointment which is towards the end of November, I'm over with Mike (son) this Friday for his 2nd post op check up. So far so good
