after a graft how should your eye look?

Should it be flatish like a normal persons?

I know its still early days - but from on a side on view, my eyes still pretty bulging.

PS. Anyone that uses maxidex or has used it in the past - did it/does it sometimes sting and burn so much you could physically gauge your eyeball out?

I'm not sure how the eye should look but I'll ask someone to check mine tomorrow to see if it looks bulgy.

On the other matter, I believe I've read here about maxidex sometimes stinging, but I'm not sure whether this was to eye gauging levels.

Whilst we're waiting for some more informed input, I don't suppose though that you know the difference between maxidex and maxitrol?

I have KC and my eye bulges, but my friend who dos not have KC has eyes that bulge loads but has perfectly good normal vision.

It is down to the curvature, basically is should not look rugby ball shaped which is the differecne between me and my friend.

Maxidex is Dexamethasone: it is a steroid. I get my dexamethasone in little minims (one dose containers) because I cannot tollerate the perservatives in maxidex.

Go directly to your ophthalmologist. Tell him or her that you are having a bad reaction to the steroid drops and ask about preservative free steroids.

DO NOT DELAY. Go now.

I found maxidex really stung for a minute but if you shake it well it is so much better!! I also found it nicer when it was cold from the fridge. Hoping you work it out!!

hiya sarah
i was put on maxitrol and mydralite after the graft but was allergic to the mydralite which they discovered about 1-2 months after the graft GRRR... am now on maxidex and have been for the last 3 months and i find that it really does sting a hell of a lot the consultant said that it was just the luck of the draw with drops hurting or not with regards to bulging eyeballs my grafted eye is still bulgy hops some of this might help

Chris - I'm liking the idea of that pondering thread - im gonna start one on the non KC board cause someone may know the answers to my daily thought.

As for maxidex to maxitrol - guess its just what your consultant says, all i was told was you no longer need the antibotic, and who am I to argue.

And your more than welcome to share my posts - caring and sharing is what this forum is all about.

If it comes to the stage when everytime i put one in it hurts, I will go and see about it, but thankfully its just every now and then. I will try shaking a lot more (thanks sweet). So far no stinging today - but still have 1 to put in
