Craig
How are things with you and when exactly did you have your graft? I am12 days post today and my 'gritty' feeling is just begining to settle a little. I still have no vision improvement but I am optomistic. I am fortunate that my right eye is only very slightly affected therefore I have excellent vision in this eye. I have driven my car and I am managing to do most things as before. Unfortunatley the tape I use to hold the guard in place at night has given me a very sore rash on my face. But other than that I'm plodding along ok. Please keep us all up to speed with your recovery etc....

Best wishes

Hi, I had my graft on Weds 20th, and today is the first day without barely any discomfort - it has got easier day by day. I get an occasional feeling of dryness, a bit like when you have had a lens in too long. I have not driven yet as they told me it was a no-no. Although I cannot read anything, my vision is quite good for so soon after the op (I think!). I can make out what objects are and could easily walk around even if I was only looking out that eye. I think by Thurs when I go for a checkup, I should hopefully be able to read at least the first line on the chart. The white in that eye is now whiter than it was pre-op!
Hope your recovery goes well too. Nice to have a "recovery buddy"!!

Forgot to add, do you still get multiple images out of the operated eye? I get some, but I don't think as many as before. Unfortunately I need a clear sky to do the moon test!

Hi Craig
I'm glad all is going well for you. You appear to be doing a little better than me. So far I don't have any improvement in my vision. What is the moon test? Are both your eyes badly affected by KC or just the one. My right eye has KC but thankfully only slightly. This is why I can still drive :D

My left eye is the good one, it only has mild KC and has excellent sight (third from bottom line on chart without a lens) but they still said no driving. Guess every consultant has different opinions! The moon test is my own test! As the brightness of the moon is in such contrast to the black night sky, I find it the easiest way to assess how many multiple images I see.

I can read the second to last line with my 'good eye' thank god. I will try your moon test. My vision in my grafted eye is still a blurr of colours and shapes at the moment, but the discomfort is begining to settle now. Do you happen to know when the next AGM is being held?

Diane,

We hope to set an AGM at the next commitee meeting in January, as soon as a date is set, John will post an announcement because he gets homw from these things before I do :D

Been for my checkup, they were pleased and I don't have to go back for 3 weeks.
I think I was longer in the pharmacy waiting for my drops than I was in the actual appointment!
