Sudden Vision Change

Just thought Id runt hsi buy here and see if any of you guys had anything similar?

Monday morning woke up, went to work, per usual...and noticed that my vision wasnt as sharp. I put it down to waking up early etc...and so waitied till I got to work.......anyway..got to work..plugged laptop in......and observed the same thing....vision was good.....as in I could see things at distance but not sharp close up....

So did my usual....rotate the glasses and see whats happening. I came to the conclusion that my astigatism had increase\decreased as part of the healing on the graft....

Anyway, left it a day....and same thing.....so go myself over to my Optician...and as thought...the asitgatism had moved around 7 degrees......

However, today I notcied that as the day got by the vision got better with the same glasses....

Anyone had anything similar?.....

Initially; I thought worse case its an early sign of rejection; and best case the healing did actually cause the vision astigmatism change...

Hi Jay,

Been thinking on this since you pm'd me, I wonder if a sticth has broken but you just have not noticed it.

Like I said in the pm, the only time I got sch vision changes was when I had a stitch out.

It would depend on how big the loose is as to weather you would feel it rubbing on your eye lid.

Just a thought.

See thing is, I have no pain in any way, no signs of rejection, etc at all....aside from this vision change.....and last I had this was ermmmm......around 5 months back.....and again that was a prescription change 4 weeks after I had sutures out

This time nothing has happened...so maybe a suture has come loose....good thinking!.....not sure if I should wait till Jan as thats my next appt.......think Ill take it up to Friday morning...and see what happens........going to pick my glasses up tomorrow.....and so if that fixes the issue from the morning...than I guess...it was a surface change.....either from suture...or natural healing......

But I just had a thought also...I had been dehydrated over the weekend and into Monday......and then it would make sense that today as the day got on; the vision got better......

Right then Jayuk, don't you always say if you notice any change in vision etc you should get it checked out

Lol...No I do......Id always say that......and I would myself if there was even an iota of redness,pain,swelling or light sensitivity......id have been down there........but in this case I have neither....just a vision change that gets fixed with a change in prescription.............thats why I havent yet.....honest!

As far as rejection goes, many doctors say if you notice one or more of the signs give them a call.

Plus as you say you were dehydrated, this can probably excentuate any vision changes and drinking is not a quick fix, it does take time for the fluids to properly get replaced.

Still ask when you pick up the glasses, they can have a quick look under the old slit lamp to put your mind at ease.

Not sure if I'd go myself given the description. But do remember the V in RSVP: Vision Change.

Any sudden vision change by itself (evem for the better) could be the start of a rejection episode.

I hope it isn't, but there's no harm in getting it checked out!

Thats my concern....Im seeing the optician tomorrow morning, and will get him to take a closer look; as he is aware of signs of rejection in Transplants...then see where to go from there I think......

In terms of rejection; what were your signs during your bouts?....Did you ever get anything similar to what I am describing?

Just thought Id add....I emailed my consultant last nite and just got a reply. Gareth spot on, he said the same thing, sometimes it can be a proper suture coming undone, or just lose.

If I get the foreign body sensation then to see him today or tomorrow.....or leave it till my appt after the new year...

Im heading to my optician to get him to have a look to see if any are loose....
