I have the same problem with Lemon squash and so does my brother.

I am allergic to nuts but can eat peanuts, i am also seriously allergic to bananas, kiwi fruit, mango, avacardo mainly tropicol fruit.
I can only eat fresh prawns, if they have been frozen they make me really ill.
I can only eat tomatos and mushrooms if they have been cooked.
I think thats about it

Louise, when you get wheezy, like when you drink Lemon do you get a really itchy chin? I do :?:

Well, probably more of an intolerance officially rather than an allergy... but mine is tomatoes and vinegar.

However, there is hope: I can cope fine with tinned tomato soup. Obviously part of the process neutralises the chemical I have a problem with. One day, my stepmother tried to fool me, thinking that it was all phsycosomatic. She came into the room holding up a can of Heinz's finest, and asking me if I'd like some with lunch, as my Dad was having some. I said yes please.

I was then presented with a bowl of steaming hot tomato soup... that she'd secretly made herself, out of real tomatoes. I'd redecorated the tablecloth somewhere between the 2nd and third spoonful!

She believed that I wasn't making it all up after that

I just get wheezy Anne. You're the only person I've never known to have a similar allergy, I'm sure some people havn't believed me, my mum has had to say 'oh yes she does!'

Ohhhhh Louise , i thought you were going to have the itchy chin problem.
I think my lemon squash allergy accurs when the squash is made to strong, but this doesn't happen with any other squash.

I'm allergic (or completely intolerant!) to tomatoes in any state. Makes reading food labels imperative and I'm sure poeple think I'm nuts as I have to use a magnifying glass to read the tiny print!!
Penicillin, erythromycin and septrin antibiotics don't like me either!

Indeed. Pat, I feel for you.

I also know what it's like - it's difficult to find any food that doesn't have "tomato" somewhere on the ingredient list. Not to mention almost ruling out completely some nationalities' cuisine!

(Having said that, I make a mean tomato-free lasagne using soup  )

I'm allergic to work it seems.

Just one foot through the office door brings out the most horrendous reaction. It sets my brain into advanced mode and starts me thinking of all the places I'd rather be like, mowing the lawn, cleaning the gutters out or even cleaning the bathroom....anywhere else at all really.

Of course favourite holiday destinations pop into the head too.

I just think I'm meant for better things.....
