How soon can you do exercise (i.e. gym work) after having a graft?

Craig

Depends what you are doing. Cardio? Weights? mixture?

I stayed away for around 10-12 weeks I think...then returned to light cardio and weights again. But weights wise you really need to be careful....and focus on BREATHE and where possible close the eye but DONT squint......at the "hardest" part of the movement...you may look an idiot doing it...but do you really care?...I know I didnt :-)

BUT, always take advice from your consultant...if he says NO its NO...regardless of what anyone says....

I think I would just do treadmill and bike to keep the old ticker healthy. Although I'm only 35 I'm very unfit, from sitting at a desk for 19 years. In fact I want to try and do an intensive six weeks leading up to the op to make sure I get a general anaesthetic!
