I get multple images and star-bursts at night in my dodgy eye but not glare as such and surprising how the brain relies on the good eye and ignores most of the rubbish. I also specified xenons on recent car. Haven't had them before but they are remarkably good. They are self-levelling so hope they don't annoy people coming towards me.

I'm not actively pursuing a solution to my light sensitivity. I've lived with it, and the things I do to minimise it, for so long that's it's normal to me and not something I think about that much - until I come on here and read other people's experiences and realise that it is far from what most people would consider 'normal'.

Barney,

Xenons are great for the driver, but I must admit they are the reason i had the anti glare film fitted to my cars. Sunglasses at night, even a light tints I feel is dangerous as headlights are clearly visible, but dark objects on the footpath diasappear.

The anti glare film is such a light tint you can not tell it is there, but it does remove the glare I get from Xenon and other high intensity modern lights.

I know a lot people do say they're affected by them. I've never had a problem with them so not really aware of it. Technically, they have a much better cut-off, less stray light, than incandescent lights and by law they have too be self-adjusting. The few problems I've had have been with ill-adjusted ordinary headlights - especially on motor-bikes. (I'm an ex-biker.)

I wonder if a few of the problems put down to xenons are caused by the phoney ones that are retro-fitted that sometimes use bulbs with an illegal wattage.

Either way they are great for the driver so I think we'll see more of them.

Think you are right there.

It is always a small minority that make life hell for the rest of us :D
