Hi my name is marc I'm 27 years old,I had kera at the age of 22 I had it in my right eye worse but then they noticed my left eye had it so what the recommend was for me to have intact in my left eye to stop it getting worse,I attend lpool eye hospital fo the operation, after the operation my vision was no better but it won't get any worse,I currently have a hybrid lens in my right eye soft on the outer tough in the middle,I really hate wearing them now and relying on them,my vision is poor without it in,my eye tends to look blood shot and looks horrible, what other operations are available to sort this out or any one recommend any other solutions thanks marc

Hi Marc and welcome to the forum,
Maybe a different sort of lens would work better for you? There's a new generation of semi and mini sclerals that seem to work well for some people, as well as the full sclerals. Do e-mail your postal address to anne@keratoconus-group.org.uk if you'd like our booklet on KC and newsletters to keep you abreast of new developments.

Been for my check up today and they were very happy with my eyes and vision and with my contacts, when I put the 2 of them in I get 20/20 vision but my eyes don't like the 2 of them in they go blood shot and sore so I just put the right one in,vision is still not bad,so don't have to go back for another 6 months, also my eyes haven't got any worse in the 6 years I have had KC so hopefully they stay as they are,I'm 27 now and they reckon the time your 30 they have normally settled so fingers crosse

Ps.thanks for the information pack Anne that was sent through to me most appreciated
