Hi George
It's a combination of the usual LASIK (but with a femtosecond laser to do the tissue changes) with crosslinking. None of which are actually new. What's new in this approach is the combination of these existing techniques in a new protocol.
Promising, but as with so much else in the world of medical science, scratch beneath the surface and you don't find an awful lot in the way of independently verified long term studies on safety and effectiveness. That's not to say this procedure isn't safe and effective of course -- the theory behind the new protocol is derived from information already available for these separate procedures in isolation. It just means that there's not yet that much data on it as a whole.
Cheers
Chris

The procedure ensures that the risk of developing serious complications from laser treatment is virtually reduced to zero.

That's a fairly hmm cavalier statement at best?
