My experience with CXL

My story is pretty much the same as most. I've been wearing glasses since I was 5 (40 now), had a -4.5 with a 90degree astigmatism in both eyes and work with computers all day. Last year, a regular trip to an independant optician highlighted KC where the V*****xpress high street store had missed for 4 years running. After a trip to the local NHS, where they hmmed and harred a lot before saying "we cant look at the cornea today as the doctor that uses that machine is on holiday, come back later with your records"
I contacted optical express, who bought out the company that did my lasik 12 years ago, and obtained a copy of my pre and post op perscriptions. By this time my right eye had gone from -4.5, down to -2 with the lasik and was now -6 due to the KC. Optical Express talked to me about how they could help and I bit the bullet and agreed to CXL in just the one eye.
its been 6 days since my operation and the pain has all but gone but my vision is very blurry and about 20/200, worse than I expected as its degraded on what it was a week ago. Fingers crossed that it all settles down and returns to what it was quickly.
I still havent heard back from the local NHS with a new appoiintment time to have my eye scanned and it makes me wonder why I pay so much damned tax when given such treatment. I think the A&E staff deserve nighthoods but the admin side of non-A&E seems to be woeful at best. Its been 4 months since I last heard from them, as they pushed me out the door after my first and only visit.
