Over Refraction

Hi All

I have glasses and RGPs currently, but not glasses to wear over contact lenses. I was wondering what the benefits are of wearing glasses over contacts, other than them not having to be like bottle bottoms!

Thanks

Those of us who are getting on in years often wear reading glasses over contact lenses to get the best close vision, while the lenses alone give us good distance vision.

Hi Jay

Generally, contact lenses correct everything there is to correct. In a few cases, glasses can help if vision is not perfectly corrected in contact lenses. An example would be what we call "residual astigmatism" when wearing RGP lenses. However, most contact lens fitters would usually change lens type to get round this.

If you feel you are not getting the best visionl you need to discuss your particular situation with your fitter.

Thanks for that Lynn and Anne

I'm sure my reading glasses days will come :-)

My vision is perfectly acceptable with RGPs, bottom line of the chart, so will stick with them
