help on this issue

Postby Mousework » Tue 18 Sep 2012 6:26 pm

a few weeks back i had this strange experience where my eyes started to sting, and got very watery. This lasted for 4o minutes, the only i could do was to sit down and wipe the water from my eyes as it wont normal tears, Then in the evening i had alot of pain in the eye ball ,where i need to take pain killers for the pain to sleep.

This evening i notice in my face there is a half cm wide dark line acceding from my tear val down to my cheek and right across the cheek.

Has this happen to any of you guys or do you know what it could be? i have appointment on friday, and i dont want to mention it if its nothing.

Was the pain in both your eyes? And have you noticed any change in your vision since this episode? What you describe happening to your eyes MIGHT be hydrops, where the back of the cornea tears (though I'm mystified by the dark line on your face). You'll find a good article about hydrops on the home page www.keratoconus-group.org.uk/sitev3/features.html But definitely do mention this at your appointment on Friday. If it is a hydrops, it will heal naturally over time, though drops may help the healing process.
All the best, and let us know how you get on.

Sorry, mousework, I'm just someone with KC, not an expert. Only someone qualified actually looking at your eyes can give you definite answers. All the best for tomorrow and let us know how you get on.
