Sorry I have been awol for months, just been getting on with life, not a great deal to report,

the eye department have forgotten I exist since about January which suits me, my right eye (the trainsplant one) is slowly improving very slowly but is getting there, left eye is a wright off and I have said no to any transplant or anything for it as can't deal witht he rollercoaster again.

Retinal migranes have been behaving as well over the lastfew months which is awesome.

My masters is going really well, nearly finished 2 modules, just doinga module at a time cos it is easier and a lot less stress, would recommend university ofthe west of scotland to everyone cos they are awesome sauce n so helpful

what else? not much, guide dog stuff is tempramental n not going anywhere fast as the local office appear to be unable to organise a piss up in abrewry for want of a better word.

Not much else to report other than I have blue n green hair at the moment just cos it is fun.

since posting the inital post I appear to be gaining a stye on my right lower lid AGAIN! grrr. x

I am prone to them! Right now I am coming to the end of a three month course of oxytetracyclone.

Usually the nightly application of gentle heat using the eyebag keeps them at bay.

Ugh, yes, horrible things although (luckily for me) I only get one every few years. In addition to the "proper" grown-up medication which I guess you can get prescribed, I'd also recommend if you're stuck and not able to get a GP's appointment in time a product called "Golden Eye" http://www.goldeneyecare.co.uk/ which I've found very effective at blasting the little buggers. Golden Eye Ointment is best for styes. You can also get a stronger version if you get conjunctivitis. The active ingredient in the strong stuff is Chloramphenicol -- I got this prescribed when I got my graft done so was a bit amazed to see it in an over-the-counter product. But it at least shows that it's "proper" medicine, not just paying for inert fillers in a fancy package with a picture of a nurse on the front.

cheers all Mr Space Cadet looked at it last night n thinks it is just a "white head spot" not a full on stye, I am going to try and apply some heat to it see if that defuses it, really can't be bothered to loose my weekend to a&e as their is no eye casualty till monday now.

I had no idea that Golden Eye contained anything as useful as Chloramphenicol! I may have to revise my general prejudice against over the counter proprietary medicines.

tonight it appears the lower lid punctual plug has become dislodged and is infected n thus causing all the issues. sigh eye a&e for me on monday if it doesnt clear up
