re-graft

I had a corneal graft nearly two years ago unfortunatley this has not worked and my consultant is underway with different things to change the shape to maximise the vision. Has anyone else has different things done to change the shape of the cornea to maximise their vision prior to having a re gaft. I am not sure I can cope with the unknown only to have ot go through the graft again and I am not sure pro-longing the later option is best due to the impact upon my life due ot my vision.

I'm sorry that things haven't gone well for you, so far. Well done on finding the forum and welcome!
I've not experienced the sort of thing you describe but I'm pretty sure that there will be someone along in a moment who has.
Andrew.

Hi lubyloo - welcome to the site. I too have had a graft 18 months ago which is very misshapen. I had a keratotomy in January - tiny little radial scoring of the cornea using a diamond. The idea being to release the tension in the cornea and to allow it to relax into a better shape. Check out my Postings by "Jezzafletcher" although don't lose heart as I havdn't been totally lucky. Good luck and have hope. KC moved in with us - we didn't move in with it.

Hi Lubyloo,
The procedure Jez describes is fairly standard to improve the shape of a graft and usually works well. It's certainly much less of a hassle than having a regraft so I'd have thought well worth a try.
All the best
