I have mild keratoconus/blepharitis/dry eye, and my consultant did advise me a couple of years ago to try and avoid make up. I've never really bothered with it anyway so it wasn't a problem. But I'm getting married next summer and will want to wear make up, so I'm just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for brands/types to go for/avoid etc? I quite like the idea of having my eye lashes tinted so there's a more lasting effect, but I wonder if the drops I use - Carmellose - will just wash away the dye. Does anyone have any knowledge/experience of this?

Hi, be careful with eyelash tinting, you should have do a test patch for the first time, and be prepared for slight stinging [you can flush out the eyes with hypromellose]. Lash tinting makes the upper lashes darker but it's nothing like mascara because there's no 'volume'.
I'd recommend Lancome waterproof 'Hypnose' mascara, and 'zig-zag' it through the lashes carefully using a magnified mirror and cotton buds to remove excess.
I'd recommend MAC pencils [as they are nice and soft] but don't put eye pencil on the inner rim as that's not skin and their eye shadows have a long lasting pigment which doesn't flake off like others. The Lancome waterproof remover is best used by closing the eye with some on a pad to loosen it then dip cotton buds into it and 'roll' it across the lashes either closed or resting lashes on a finger. Wipe over the eye with another moistened pad [water] to remove excess and flush out the eye with hypromellose to ensure nothing is left.
Do a trial with make-up long before the day to ensure you have no reactions

i've been having success with 'earths beauty' and 'miessence' make up. i find that the less toxins there are in them, the less irritation to the eyes. you can find them online
