Hi all,

I was wondering if you knowledgable people could give me some advice. I have much worse KC in my right eye (-8-9) than my left. My left eye is good without aid and right is just a blur so my optom just fitted a right RGP and I have none in my left as she couldnt get it much better than it is. Now is seems like my left is worse than my right with a lens in! My left is blurry whereas my right was much more blurry before with no contacts. The blurryness has been doing my head in today, it clears when i squint hard but i dont like doing that lol. Is it still early days? Should I get a left RGP too?

Hi Jay,

Next time you go for a check up explain to your optom that your right eye now sees better than your left eye and ask her whether the sight in your left eye can be improved either with a soft lens or an RGP. Only your optom will be able tell you this - we can only guess. It may be that if only a small improvement is required an ordinary disposable soft lens might be sufficient and it is not worth the hassle of getting used to an RGP.
