Just got back from Ayr hospital today. Had my advanced crosslinking done on tuesday my Dr Srinivasan, which cost £1200 plus £200 consultation fees.
It took 30 mins to get the drops into the eye, and then 5 mins under the uv lighting. My Eye is nearly healed after 3 days, but still only 50 % vision so far. The cxl was relatively painless, however the 24 hours that followed it were almost unbarable with soreness.
The pain has now gone, and i hope to have my full vision back soon. allin all, very good, hopefully it will work
anyone else had a similar experience?

Re: crosslinking
I had crosslinking on my right eye in june 2007 in ayr, and was the first to have crosslinking done by Mr. Srinivassan at Ayr. For the day immediately following the procedure it was a little painful but found that either sleeping or having my eyes closed was the most comfortable and so didn't really do anything for ~24 hours. I don't remember any serious amount of pain in the following days but it was a fairly long time ago. for reference i was 16 at the time and was wearing piggy back lenses in both eyes for KC and didnt have the procedure on my left as it is fairly advanced KC and my cornea was too thin for the procedure.

Re: crosslinking
Thanks for the feedback, Alex, and welcome to the forum. How has the vision in that eye been since you had the crosslinking?

Re: crosslinking
Hi thanks for the welcome. my right cornea stopped progressing since then but there was no improvement. the stability of the vision has meant I was able to get a settled pair of lenses for my right eye. the procedure also has seemed to slow the once rapid progression of my KC in my left eye. I currently have reasonably "normal" vision combined and after some recent tweaking by my wonderful optometrist a stable piggy back lens in both eyes and so can lead a relatively normal life wearing piggy back lenses. When i get some free time I will share my positive story of my experiences with KC
