Non central graft?

I know lots of people on here have had a graft (or 2) but has anyone ever needed a non central one? ie where the damaged to the cornea is right at the edge so there is nothing to sew the graft to?

I have had an acute hydrops that perforated and I now need a graft, but if you imagine the cornea as a clock face from 4 to 8 o'clock the cornea is totally knackered right at the edge. So the plan at the moment is to try and hold on til some scar tissue forms.

Just wondered if anyone else had had the same problem? :?:

Not precisely what you describe, but I did know a woman who had to have the cornea and part of the sclera transplanted; the operation was very successful.

Heard of off central grafts but not what you described Andrew, amazing what they can do.
