antihisthamines

Hi,
I have suffered from allergies and asthma for years now , and I used to be a vigorous eye rubber
Now that I know I'm not supposed to do that, I turn to antihistamines for prevention, 1 per day :( or else I wake up next morning and absolutely nothing can stop me from rubbing my eyes on the first splash of water).
Is this dangerous?
I have been prescribed the medicine by my eye doctor after anti allergic drops did not work, and was advised to take them only on irritation, but i take them as prevention, because when my eyes are irritated nothing helps
Sorry if this is a bit off topic
Thanks
sarkac

Hiya sarkac I am probably telling what you already know but :-

Any dirt dust pollen and general stuff you come into contact with during the day adheres to your eyelids face eyebrows and hair so anything you can do to eradicate this has gotta help.

At night I always wash my face well with warm water and a flannel after I have taken out my lenses and cleaned them. When I dont I suffer in the morning.

Recently as my hay fever has kicked in I also use my amidose saline to squirt into my eyes and wash any stray pollen out.
In the morning I repeat.
When my hay fever was at its worst I would shower and wash my hair last thing and then repeat in the morning.
