I am having trouble reading , especially from laptops or cellphones , when i wear contacts on my left eye (moderate KC)
Adjusting the brightness helped a bit
With RGP's it was not easy to read from my laptop, but I could read a tiny print book
With kerasoft IC I could not read from a book, but the vision otherwise and comfort was good .

Do other people go through this too ?

(NOTE : I use my right eye to read at the moment, but I am scared this could happen to my right eye too, I haven't done C3R as KC is not progressing)

I was actually in the same boat as you and decided to leave my right eye as I felt it wasn't progressing.

But then it did.

The best time to have CXL done is when the KC hasn't progressed much. Based on my own experiences I would say look to get your right eye cross linked as soon as possible and don't live with the regret of leaving it too late.

I used to have a problem like this, but overcame it by adjusting my screed to show yellow on blue rather than black on white. It made photos difficult to see, but text was legible.

fatar760 , may i ask , did a stable KC of yours start progressing all of a sudden?
I am really worried about the long term effects of C3R and would like to delay it as much as possible.
Also when a KC progresses , if one knowingly monitors vision from day to day ( apart from the yearly scans) would you feel it is detectable?
The doctors say "if its progressing we will perform a C3R" but the question is, will it be too late?
Basically what I am trying to ask anyone who has been through progression ( as i cannot remember how mine was as my other eye was good) , in the worst case how quickly can it damage my eye despite all efforts to monitor it?

Just to add I am 27 years old , and have stable KC for one and a half years after detection.

Some clinics will not offer CXL if there has been no progression in the condition for a year. the reason for this is that for the overwhelming majority of people with KC, their condition will never progress beyond the point where it can be managed by wearing contact lenses or even glasses.
