different diagnoses

my daughter of 28 in greece was diagnosed with K but then got a second opinion and was told she hadnt got it - is there not a clear cut diagnosis - the first doctor wanted to do cross linking should we go for a third opinion and where - in england......worried mum

Keratoconus isn't always easy to tell apart from other corneal conditions - we've certainly had some people here who were initially told they had KC and later given a different diagnosis. As for a third opinion - most of the hospitals in big cities here see a lot of KC and may be able to help (Moorfields in London, Birmingham, Leicester, Manchester, Leeds and any number of others). It's always worrying when it's not clear what the problem is, but many vision problems caused by the cornea can be helped with specialist contact lenses.
