Hello everyone. My name is Julie and I live on the Isle of Wight.
Is there anyone on the forum who also lives here?
I was diagnosed with KC 12 years ago at the age of 33, I think I'm the only member of my family with KC.
I look forward to hearing from anyone in the area.
Jules :D

Welcome to the forum. I'm not from the Isle of Wight, but the shipyard where I do some of my work has built ferries for the red funnel line :)

How are you coping with your KC: are you managing with glasses, contact lenses or something else?

Andrew

I have worn RGP's since I have been diagnosed. I've had many different lenses, often having lengthy fitting sessions.
My most recent fitting followed mapping. ~Unfortunately there is only one optician here on the Island that offers this service.
Day to day I mostly cope well with KC, however I've found that I need to take a daily antihistamine which appears to reduce eye irritation.
I also belong to the NKCF forum but find that any information received is mainly American based & isn't always relevent to the UK.
I also thank my lucky stars that I live in the UK & therefore don't have problems that the Americans appear to have with insurance companies.
Thankyou.
