Glasses prescription

Hi Everyone

Had KC for bout 25 years and wear Rose K contacts most of the time. However a few years ago I mentioned Id like a pair of glasses just to enable me to try to watch television or read a book. Well Moorfields sorted me out with a pair of glasses about 6 years ago and I must say they really were a positive addition to my life.

Anyhow a couple of weeks ago I mentioned at my contact lens appt how I've never had the glasses checked since and could I ave an appt to see if the vision could be made any betta.

Well I've been today and the prescription is 6.50 in the right eye and 2.50 in the left. I can see really quite well out of them but have been warned that walking in them is out of the question.

Went to Tesco opticians with the prescription and was told the piece of paper the prescription was on was infact a voucher as my eyes were so bad - I didnt know it was a voucher - nobody said anything at the hosp. Then tesco said they couldnt help cos they only stocked lenses upto a 5. My next port of call will be another high st opticians and hopefully I can get sorted.

Does anyone know wot these numbers mean - 6.50 RE and 2.50 LE.

Regards
Libby :)

sorry, can't help with the numbers, but there is sure to be somebody along in a moment who can.

don't worry too much about Tesco being unable to help; they are geared up to serving the mass market and probably find it easier not to stock or handle more specialist lenses. My own spec lenses are made for me by Zeiss in Germany, and are dispensed by a high street optometrist in Glasgow (part of the 20/20 group).

You will find an optometrist who will dispense your glasses, and I am sure that you will be find.
