Hi guys & gals
Now that i have started wearing lenses full time again, it got me thinking about the cleaning regime i have for my lenses and the lens case.
I'd like to get other ppl's opinions on the best way/way's to clean and store lens cases. Not much point in having the lenses spotless unless the case is pristine as well.
Any info would be great
Regards
Denis

Re: Cleaning/Storing Lens case
when i last got an infection, i threw a whole lot away and boiled the rest. dried them in the sun, and keep them in a clean box- with the lids not on.

Re: Cleaning/Storing Lens case
I use bosche and lomb cleaner and store my lenses in Total Care wetting and soaking solution. Once a week I soak my lenses overnight in protein remover tab (the tablet dissolved in saline). Once a week i sterilize my lens case by boiling it in salty water.

Re: Cleaning/Storing Lens case
I clean my lens case every day so have several in action all the time. The lens case and lid is rinsed with boiled water that has cooled to a point it won't cause injury and left to dry upside down to prevent dust falling in it in a clean place on a piece of tissue paper. As soonas the case is dry after a couple of hours the lids are put on to prevent dirt getting in, I also rinse the cases with cleaning solution just to make sure no dust has got in. Slightly more than is recoemnded by the solution manufaturer that my lens case came with.
The lenses are cleaned in accordance to the patient information leaflet that comes with my Kerasoft IC lenses and the lens cleaner that I use.
To me it is following basic common sense and simple hygiene practices that should be followed during normal every day living.

Re: Cleaning/Storing Lens case
Thanks for the replies.
I usually have 2/3 lens cases on the go too.
I always wonders once they were dry, Should i keep lens solution in them or just put the lids on with them dry.
Normally i put them in a bowl of boiling water in the microwave for 5 minute to sterilise. Never thought about leaving them upside down to dry.
I will be doing this from now on. Makes perfect sense.

Re: Cleaning/Storing Lens case
crikey I've never one any of this in 29 years and never had an infection!
I clean my case with saline each day after putting the lens in, dry with tissue, put in the soaking solution and replace the case about 3 times a year
