Hi All

I am going to Mexico and am now shopping around for travel insurance. Problem I'm having is that a lot of the insurance companies do not cover pre-existing medical insurance and the ones that do tend to be expensive - been quoted over £700 by one company.

Has anyone who has had a graft taken travel insurance out whilst still receiving treatment??? If so, who did you go with???

Is your graft recent? They don't seem bothered after years. I've previosuly used M&S

I've used Direct Line in the past, declared grafts and think it was a bit extra but not much, certainly not in the hundreds! Luckily eyes have been OK on holiday - touch wood, but had to claim when son needed a root canal filling while in Florida! I wouldn't have minded but we'd been to the dentist the previous week!

I have been finding that as I am still receiving treatment for the graft that companies won't cover me. I have managed to find a company, columbus direct, and its costing just over £40. Will have to check through documents when get them to check I am covered as really cheap compared to the one that was over £700

Hi, I went on a weeks white water rafting holiday for my 30th birthday with my twin sister a year after my graft. I was still on eye drops as I had about 6 stitches left, but the holiday company insured me for only about £10 more even though it was an activity holiday where I was more likely to have a problem!

It shouldn't cost a lot more, just make sure to read the policy through when you get it to make sure that you are covered. I guess that it will also depend on how much time has passed since your op.
