Is it worth asking to try a 3rd type of lens?

As you have probably read I haven't got on very well with the two types of lenses which they have tried me with thus far.

I am growing increasingly fed up of lack of vision, I have accepted my right eye is too mucked up and needs the graft, but reluctant to accept no more can be done for my left.

Is my lack of decent tear thingy to blame? or just the substance of the lenses?

Navigating my apartment and suroundings based on how I think they are, following tv mainly by how things sound (thankfully I am a visual learner) uni getting increasingly more frustrating by the lecture,

Yesterday my parents were over and discovered my mum had a op on her tear ducts years ago but only NOW chose to mention it to me - scowl

I had my glasses on which myself, Ben and parents concluded made me look 'intellegent' but Ben like I know that they don't actually do anything bar slightly bolder things for me, my parents are of the opinion that 'surely you just need stronger lenses'

sigh what to do or think

It is always worth asking for another try, but I wouldn't delay other things while that is going on.

Lens tolerance may be a combination of the tear problem and your sensitivity to lenses.

It certainly was for me.

Sounds like you need to get the tear problem sorted first and may be more than just finding the right drops which was the case for me. It took about six months to find a startegy that worked and then a further 3 - 6 months before I could wear lenses without having to take them out to apply drops every couple of hours.

You might also react better to one of the soft lenses which has made a real difference to me, but first finding a suitable management system for your dry eyes is a must. The last thing you want is for a graft to be put on hold because you have dry eyes.

My eyes are not as dry but still iritating with the drops I have been 'okish' with for the last few months.

Sat here attempting to find motivaton to go a whole 5minutes up the road to the post office, and if honest nervous, got one side road to cross n stressing as roads are increasingly a nightmare, found myself last week on my way to uni checking if it was safe to cross the road by feeling for the rotating thing under the crossing. *sigh*

Need to go the post office and then the groceries oposite it, but still in my pj's and want to hide in bed.

Not a happy Lea by all this, everything is doing my head in, been looking at audio software for my blackberry (new mobile) as despite having the text on the largest setting and boldest which was fine a fortnight ago this week finding it hard to see *screams*

All I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS TO SODDING SEE! (I think Iv been a good girl, hum wonder if Santa listens to Jews?!?)

The hospital didn't offer any idea's about my tear issue other than to use drops, erm I use them all the time as it is, had to resist the urge to ask for a IV drip of drops into both eyes.
