hi

i finally have my operation date through for march next year. its taken a bit longer as i was originally told 6-9mths but 18 months isnt bad. having it done at leeds.

I am currently wearing my left lens in my right eye so i can see as its the worst and i lost the other one. also i tried the hybrid lens in my left eye but my eye does not seem to like it. I have spent the last few days with no visible white on my eye whatsoever and soooo painful. not doing that again. the drops i was given are iritating it as well.

nevermind

hi

also wondered if anyone has had theirs done at leeds st james. they do it as a day op but as i am by myself i have no one to be there for me after the op and most of the time after an op i have problem with my oxygen levels.

Got to stay in a hotel the night before anyway.

Hi Michelle
Most hospitals aim to do grafts as day surgery these days (it was 3 or 4 nights in hospital when I had mine done!) But quite a few people do end up staying the night after the op, especially if it's done later in the day. Do talk to someone at the hospital about your concerns. If you explain your situation, I would hope they'd be able to give you a bed for the night after the op.
All the best
Anne

I stayed overnight because I live a long way from the hospital and they didn't want me to have to get up extra early to attend the next day clinic.

All the best
