I wore the full scleral and it was a breeze to put in and take out. It was also very comfortable to wear.
I am sure that your son will be shown how to handle the lens, but for me the best approach for putting in was to fill the crucible of the lens with saline and then, holding the lens so that the saline did not spill out, I would lower my eye into it! Of course, this meant that I had to look straight down into the fluid filled lens and either lift the lens to my eye or lower my head towards the lens (I found the latter easier).
Sounds weird but it worked.
All the best
Andrew
