Should Contact Lenses leave an imprint on your eye

AS the thread title says, should a contact lens leave an imprint on the eye when you take it out?
I have just re-started wearing my CL after 3-4 months out of them, and this week got the all clear to start building my wear time back up. Started on monday evening with one hour, building up by 30-60mins each day till today. I was back at the opticians for a check on the fit of my lenses today at 10am, put my lenses in at 8 this morning. the CL fitter checked the fit out and then got me to take the lenses out. looked at my eye again and said that the CL had left an inprint on my eye?
This is the same eye that i had the problems with at the back end of last year that led to me not being able to use my lenses for the last 3-4 months.
My CL fitter just said that she wanted to see me again next week, its actually closer to two weeks before they can fit me in. I am sure that the CL fitter knows what she is talking about, but it isnt the usual person i see as that person has broken her arm so not currently at work. Whilst the person I am seeing is great and is more apporachable to be able to ask daft questions, how much experience of KC she has got i am not sure.
