Any volunteers to try new KeraSoft IC lens?

Hi Everyone,

I am involved in developing a new KeraSoft lens for Irregular Cornea. I am looking for some volunteers to try the lens - particularly those who are post graft, post refractive surgery and PMD.

I would see people in my London practice and if anyone can come along either Tues or Wed next week (i know its short notice but a gap has opened up!) or Tues 23rd Dec, I would be particularly interested. If you can't make then but might in the New year, drop me a line also.

I would prefer non RGP wearers - rigid lenses tend to mould the eye so we can't get an accurate corneal shape.

Thanks

Lynn

All the best with this, Lynn.

Another arrow in the quiver is always a good idea.

Maybe once my eyes have settled into the K3 again we can have another go with the IC.

It worked well on the left eye, now with the slight tweeks to the design it might work on the right eye too :D

HI Gareth

Well actually it might because its possible you could benefit from the new sector management design in the right. Just so people know, with the new design, the back curves are made more to your own particular eye shape. It can be fitted from topography or trials sets, depending on how irregular your eye is. Its called sector management because one "sector" of the lens is tailored to the steep area of your eye while the rest is fitted to the rest. Most keratoconic/post graft eyes have corneas that are relatively flat in one place and quite steep in others. The vision obtainable from these lenses appears to be very good, as its more individually tailored.

Thanks Andrew..... :D

Got a Kerasoft IC lens for the left eye

Forgot we agreed to try that on the left, so with a K3 in the right I can compare the two lenses from a comfort perspective. Any other comparisons would be like comparing apples and pairs as my left eye is very flat post graft and the right eye is very steep.

Realy looking forward to the weekend to start trying the new lenses.

That is wonderful news.

All the best with hour trials for the two lenses.

Lynn,

Sorry I haven't got back to you about this much, but you know why with health problems!

I am very happy with piggybacking lenses on my right eye and as it is the only eye I use to see with I would like to leave it alone for now! You already know though that I would love to try another lens on the left grafted one as the one I have at the minute gives me too much pain so I hardly wear it. This would be good for you I guess as I'm not wearing a lens so my eye won't be moulded to a shape!

After Christmas I will give you a call and hopefully meet up and try something else!!! Have a great Christmas, will see you in the new year!!! Take care and good luck with the London practice!

Love Claire X x X

Actually, that sounds like something that I'd consider... probably can't make it tomorrow though (despite having day off) as am taking Claire to have her operation. :(

Best of luck with the venture though, and let us know next time you're doing this.

Hi John

Well I am really doing this next month as well... it was just I had a couple of spaces today - which I have now filled anyway. I knew people might have time off for the holidays so might be able to pop in on short notice.

Good luck Claire with the op!
