I was really too busy the day before my transplant to notice what I was feeling. When I went into hospital on the morning I was very nervous, but the staff were wonderful and all the business of checking in kept my mind off things.

Then they gave me a large box to carry to the operating room. The box was marked in large blue friendly letters

Human Tissue for Transplant

It was my new cornea! This happened each time and it was wonderful to be able to carry my new cornea in the lift as I was taken for my surgery.

All the best with yours.

Andrew

Eman,
I had very little notice- only 22 hours, so I didnt really have time to think about it. i was previously so sick of waiting that I just focussed on getting my life and work sorted out. once at the hospital i was nervous and snapping at people around me. Mostly I was worried about the anaesthetic, but after speaking to the anaethetist I felt much better, It was over before I knew it.
