Web sites and screen readers

Some of you may be aware that I work for Sainsbury's. Because of my own visual difficulties, I've been asked to comment on the home shopping website, as a visually-impaired customer has pointed out that they have trouble shopping using their screen readers.

There's a wonderful organisation called BCAB (=British COmputer Association of the Blind) with web site and linked discussion group (you can sub to it and the messages arrive as emails).
Accessibility and useability of supermarket online shopping sites, including Sainsbury's, and indeed web site (in)accessibility are regular topics of debate, frustration, and tips from the more expert to the struggling newbies.
You might find it helpful or at least interesting to take a look.
You'll certainly get lots of feedback to invitations to comment on what folks there think, I/m sure!
