Just a couple of question if anybody can help.
Does anybody have any ideal how long I will not be able to play golf for after my graft?
I also have a golf holiday booked in the Algarve booked that is 11 weeks after the op, is attending unrealistic and will my eye be too sensitive to bright sunlight?

same question here. and how sport (football and cycling for example) can affect my graft (except direct trauma)??? or when i am ready to sport?

The best advice on sport after a graft is "ask your ophthalmologist". He or she is the one who knows your eye best and will tell you with some authority whether you are able to get back to a favourite passtime.

I took the attitude that I had an obligation to family of the donor to do everything in my power to protect the gift they had given. At a time of extreme family trauma they had agreed to allow the precious eyes of their recently dead loved one to be used to help restore sight to someone whom they did not know, and of whom they would be told nothing. Yet, trusting in the medical team, they gave me the opportunity of sight.

yes it is a right attitude. of cause i wont "tumble"...a feel that i dont wanna never even scratch or touch my eye. slow and smoove...

Well I visited my man today and he did say I would be ok in about 3 weeks for golf.
Excuse the pun but something more physical would be a whole different ball game and could be quite some time before you are ready if ever!!!

I have a great snow skiing holiday planned for April, which should have been okay, but my surgery has been delayed and I am still waiting. IF I hear something this weekend i will only have 8-9 weeks before my trip. I suppose I should start getting used to the idea of missing my trip! I am a relative beginner so there is a lot of risk of falling. @%#$$&*#*@(#)$.

I don't want to sound too negative but judging by the conversation with my consultant I would be surprised if you would be able to ski so soon after surgery. I sure hope I am wrong because I know what a disappointing feeling it is to think you may have to cancel.

thanks Chris. I am coming to terms with it, and know that my long-term eye health is more important. Its just dissappointing.
