Acute Corneal Hydrops - and job interviews pending?

I was just diagnosed with Hydrops in my right eye about 2 days ago, so hearing that you're that far along and still haven't experienced significant improvement is a little frightening. I'm having a bit of pain too which kind of comes and goes, and extreme sensitivity to light. While the vision in my right eye sucked before, i noticed the peripheral vision in my eye is significantly better than it was. Also my contact lens won't fit around the eye anymore which I guess is normal with the cone change. Does your eye still get blood shot as the day goes on? What else have you done for treating it? Got a few major job interviews coming up and I wouldn't mind not looking like a stoner. Thanks a lot.

Welcome to the forum; I know that you are asking direct questions of another user with hydrops, but I think that your post is, in general, worthy of a string of its own.
Hydrops vary between people with KC. Sometimes the condition is an automatic indicator for a graft, sometimes it leaves the sufferer with better sight, and sometimes once it has all cleared up the sight is worse. Your condition will not be the same as anyone else's. My one episode of Hydrops cleared up after several months, but in the meantime I had no redness of my eye, just a kind of blurry blotch in the middle.
All the best with your job interviews.

I was given tobradex after returning to the opthamologist a few weeks ago and wow what a change it has made. The swelling around my eye has reduced significantly and I no longer experience any redness, pain, or sensitivity to light! It's 4 weeks post hydrops now and my vision has really to started to clear up. There remains a section of cloudiness in the central part of my eye, but my peripheral vision has completely cleared up, and it may look as though my vision might improve in the long run! whoo i like some good news after that few weeks of all out HELL.
