Hi

Can anyone give me advise on the above procedure? I have been in contact with a clinic in London called the London Vision Clinic which offers a conultation for £650 which gets deducted from the price if you are suitable. I stay in Glasgow, is there anywhere in Scotland that offers this procedure??

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I know that one of the ophthalmologists in the Glasgow University Hospitals NHS Trust was interested in offering this procedure. Have you discussed this with your ophthalmologist? You might save a wad of money, and if they are going to offer a pilot (necessary for ethics committee approval), you could be one of the patients to be included.

If not, you'll be no worse off than you are today.

As is the case with any treatment, there may also be long-term risks that have not yet been identified.
The increased corneal rigidity induced may wear off over time and further periodic treatments may be required.

(From the second site listed above). Ask your ophthalmologist whether it is likely that you would still be considered for a graft if you had Crosslinking.
