The main thing I was offered though was some computer software, Kurzweil 3000. I've read about it on the forum in the past and will be having a demonstartion of it on Friday. It is expensive software, so I don't want to confirm that I want it before I have tried it out. Was wondering if anybody has had any experience with it? All I really know about it is that I can scan pages into the computer and it will read the text out aloud for me. If anybody has used it, how effective is it? The thing that I have been worried about is not being able to use it! The idea of me getting it is to do some studying when my lenses arent in - but how will I use tyhe software if I cant see the screen!
To all other students out there, I would advise you to see your disability service. I was never keen on it.. I avoided seeing them for 3 months before I realised that I should really let them know about my KC just now instead of when (and if) a crisis occurs in the future.
