Vision when i wake up

i have just noticed that when i wake up i have perfect vision (with glasses), i was in the kitchen and was able to see the Teletext on a 14"inch tv from 20 feet with one eye, however at the end of the day i struggle to see it from 5 feet.
Is this a result of kerataconus or is it likely to be something else like glasses with the wrong prescription.

I think that this has to do with the way in which your corneas are 'moulded' inside your eyelid as you sleep. When you wake up your corneas are nice and found, but as the day goes on they sag under the influence of gravity.

This made some optometrists begin to take an interest in promoting the overnight use of contact lenses tp provide positive help for this moulding process. This is called (I think) orthokeratology. It should be said however that there is a wide consensus that overnight contact lens wearing significantly increases the risk of kerititis and other eye infections.

There are loads of sites describing the theoretical basis of orthokeratology. There are probably as many warning about the risk of infection :? So far as I know, even the most strident supporters of orthokeratology do not promote it as a therapy for KC eyes,

Thanks for the information Andrew. It will be interested if when I have c3-r, the shape of my eye is maintained throughout the day.

I think as well the eye dries slightly at night so the corneal surface may change slightly too.

I seem to have the exact opposite first thing in the morning, my vision is at its worst and improves during the day.
