Doh...what a plonker

Went to Taunton for the annual checkup yesterday.

I'm so used to the drill by now I could do it in my sleep, same old faces there as usual.

Anyway, the optician started things off using that 'corneal mapping' machine (see I know all the technical terms), the one you look into and it takes a picture of the cones and how steep they are.

My God he said, a massive improvement on last year....

I thought this was odd as I hadn't noticed any improvement over the last year, a little worse if anything, although that could be the mind playing tricks.

Anyway, he hurried off looking all excited...and then he was back as soon as he had gone.

Realisation dawned on him, just as it did with me.....I still had my lenses in!!!!

Ah well, nice try, popped them out and things were back to normal...what a dope I am.

Anyway, all good news really, things much as last year...got to soldier on and go back in a year.

Doh!
Is that a 'senior moment'? A good story, you made me laugh and at least all is well. 8)

Paul,

Great story - I'm sure that your consultant felt more of a dope than you did! After all, he's PAID to think about things like that!

:D

Well done! I'm not sure that the 'senior moment' was yours: it was, after all, the optiometrist who took your topography with your lenses in! :D
