Getting pain/irritation in my eyes when i wake up each day.

This is really odd. I started wearing RGP's about 3 months ago so still new to all this. In the last month though I have noticed I always wake up with red watery eyes, and irritation and discomfort in both of them as if something is in them when its not. This effect wears off after a few minutes but not until i have produced lots of tears and made my eyes red and feeling a bit sore. I tend to rub them slightly to get rid of the irritation. I know I shouldnt rub them but you tend to do it more naturally when you're drowsy and sleepy. I can still cope with wearing RGP's each day but they seem to always give me this problem each morning even though im not wearing them yet! My eyes tend to go more white and normal as the day goes on even when wearing RGP's but its annoying having to wake up like this each day
This has only started happening since wearing RGP's and only in the last month.Never had this problem before so I take it its got something to do with them? Does anyone else get this each morning too? I notice it when i first open my eyes after sleeping, can be in the middle of sleeping as i tend to awaken during the night too, as well as when waking up in the morning. The effect wears off in a a minute or two but today its particularly bad as it hasnt really gone away properly yet and I have very red eyes and right eye still irritating slightly.
Is it overuse of the RGP's? I wear them about 14 hours a day but I shouldnt get this problem every single day I wake up?
Also the other thing I need to bring up is when putting my lenses in. I can put my right eye lens in fine and without any pain or irritation or tears now. But whenever I put the left one in there is this extreme amount of discomfort and pain for like five seconds on the eye making it go red and watery for a bit. This happens every time. I put it in the same way as my right one. I dont know why this happens...is it because im right handed and i naturally put in my left lens at a different angle? it always pop into the centre though. I always feel as if something has gone on top of my left eye for the first few seconds which is what causes the discomfort. With my right one it kinda just slots and pops into place without any discomfort. This discomfort in my left eye goes away after about 10 or so seconds but still, having to put them in each day and knowing i have to experience that with my left eye is always daunting when i do it.
