reccommndations for crosslinking

Postby bluesfan » Thu 19 Jul 2007 4:57 pm

Hello Everyone:

I have recently been diagnosed with Keratoconus and have discussed the possibility of undergoing collagen cross-linking (C3-R) with my ophthalmologist. After doing a full set examinations (including measuring the thickness of my cornea), she thinks that I could be a very good candidate for this treatment especially as the corneas in both of my eyes still have enough thickness. I am in real need of feedback from those of you who have had this treatment and/or recommendations for a specialist in cross-linking who I can go to. As I am pressed for time (my health insurance expires soon) I would appreciate feedback from anyone as I need to have the treatment done as soon as possible. Many thanks in advance!

crosslinking in Spain?

Postby bluesfan » Thu 19 Jul 2007 5:04 pm

Hello everyone:

further to the above, has anyone heard of or had experience with: "Barraquer Centro de Oftalmologia"in Barcelona or Dr Jorge Alio at the "Vissum" Clinic in Alicante? My opthalmologist suggested these two insitutions in Spain who she feels may be good places to go for crosslinking. In the case of the Barraquer Centre, a name of a specific doctor was not given. I have yet to get more details from her but would appreciate if anyone here can assist! Thanks!
