Hi Elizabeth
I think you are right, changes in the weather has an effect on me too, regarding headaches.
Obviously there can be other factors too , such as tiredness, pushing your limits ie eye strain or very commonly with KC a change in the eyes prescription.
I would suggest that if your headaches persist that you make an appointment for a check up , then that way your prescription will be up to date and if it isnt that then you will have eliminated the most important possible reason for the headaches.
hope this helps
Mike

thank you
mike i drink coke.lot of it.
Coke is not good, well not lots of it. In fact carbonated drinks are rather bad for your body. I'd definately try to cut down on your coke consumption but be careful as I get really bad headaches when I give up caffeine.
I also get them when my eye is not so good and I spend time at the computer or in front of the tv.
I don't suppose you have noticed a pattern to when you get your headaches? A time or after any sort of activity?
Does taking painkillers or laying down in a dark room take away the pain?
I find that if mine is caffeiene related a drink of coffee cures it, but If it's KC related a lay down in a darkened room helps.

Hi Elizabeth,
Hehe, I used to drink Coke by the pint and knew how many pints I could get out of a 2L bottle to the nearest drop!
However, then I lost a front tooth, went and saw a dentist and stopped pretty quickly. Note, its not so much the sugar or lack of it (in diet coke), its the acidity of the drink that gets your teeth. Watch out! OK, lecture over!
Just adding my 2p, it may sound silly but have you been sneezing a llot more recently or had sore ears/sinus etc. Last year my hayfever stepped up about 3 or 4 gears and I had a lot of headaches. Only by using more powerful hayfever tablets and a nasal spray did it stop. Just a thought as my hayfever is ready to start any day, I can feel it!
Oh, and on the coke again
my dentist also told me you shouldn't clean your teeth for at least an hour after drinking your last glass of coke as your going to be rubbing the acid into your teeth rather than washing it off.
Hope you find the source of your headaches...

Somebody complimented me on my driving yesterday - they left a note on my windscreen "Parking Fine" which was nice.
KC managed with softperm lens in left eye, Intacs (2/11/07) in right eye

Avoid Cola drinks and fizzy drinks completly.
They all contain dieretics which cause dehydration which compromises lens comfort and when dehydrated (does not take much) causes headaches too.
I even avoid where possible fruit drinks and have the whole fruit. Now I drink no more than 2 cups of decaff coffee per day (well most days), but I always have at least 2 litres of water per day, more in hot weather.
The other benefit is that increased hydration means when you do enjoy a few beers or glasses of wine; any after effects like hangovers are much reduced
