Genetic study into KC

Many of you will have read about the genetic study into KC that Moorfields have been doing for the last few years in a recent newsletter. Stephen Tuft, the consultant in charge of the study is looking for a few more 'sibling pairs' to take part in the study. What they are after is brothers and/or sisters (or one of each!) who both have a diagnosis of KC and are both prepared to take part. Participation requires a clinical examination at Moorfields and a blood test, but the blood test can be taken by the GP (Moorfields will send out forms and tubes) if the person is registered with a hospital department for management of KC. If you can help, or would like to know more please e-mail me on anne@keratoconus-group.org.uk or PM me and I'll pass on the contact details for Mr Tuft. (You'll also find more details about the study on the home page of this website - one of our clever moderators will probably provide a link to it - and in the Summer 2006 newsletter.
