If anyone out has knowlage or experience with 3cr can you please give me your much needed advise.
Firstly i had the 3cr treatment in London 2 days ago and without any pain it all went well. I am however having no visual improvement to the treated eye even after 2 days recovery. All i see at the moment is the usuall distortion with a few more light fluctation than i normall have.
my doctor says i have advanced KC but having all ready had The intacs proceduar and now the 3cr does anyone know if this is what is ment to ucour?
My doctor is very uninformative and more like a business man, with an in out policy.
Can anyone explain or tell me what they went through post 3cr so i could maybe get a picture of what is happening to me.

Hi Anthoney
Not had the treatment myself, but the person I know who did has just had a graft so search for C3R and Jayuk to find his diary.
I think it took a few weeks before any improvements were noticed.
Did you have the top layer of the cornea removed for the teatment?
I know Jayuk did not.
Hope this helps.

Having the front scraped will probably take a week or so to heal.
Any problems finding Jayuks posts let me know and I will try and post the link.

Hello Anthony,
Sorry to hear you've not been very well informed about you C3R. I had the treatment in November last year. I had the surface scraped, but not the whole layer taken off. The eye was very stingy for the first night, then it was not too bad. Visual recovery was easily a few days to a week and colours were richer than normal and over exposed. I was informed the colour distortions were due to inflammation. This returned to normal after a couple of weeks. However, the over exposure of light still remains and I think this may be due to the KC, rather than the C3R. The topography of my cornea was flattened after the KC, then on follow up ups, gradually returned to something similar to pre op. However, on returning 2 days ago to have INTACS put in, the mapping showed the cornea had started to flatten off agin.
I hope your eye settles down soon and you'll get some benefit from the C3R.

Oh I forgot to say, but I'm sure you're aware, that any visual improvements are just an added bonus with C3R. The main aim is to halt progression of the disease and stabalise it. Some patients do gain visual improvements, but not all. My surgeon showed me a graph and the greatest visual improvements were over over 3 months to year.
I think I have improved a couple of lines on the eye chart, but that may be because I've mastered the art of squinting!
