post graft recovery

Hi fellow sufferers, am currently 8 days post graft and was wondering if anyone has any advice on any do's or don'ts that they have learned through their own experience, and how long approx will it be before i can wear glasses and soft lenses to correct the vision in the graft eye.

What sort of graft did they do? (DALK or PK)?
DALK takes longer to heal, but has a lower chance of rejection.

Hi Homer,
The time between graft and correcting vision is like how long is a piece of string unfortunatly.
I think most surgeons like to aim for trying to correct vision at about the six month mark but this depends on how well you heal.
The DO's are
Be sensible
Take your medicine
If in doubt about anything get it checked at eye casualty.
Avoid poking yourself in the eye; it does happen.
If you think you will be in a situtaion where they eye might get bashed or something in it; wear an eye shield.
Maintain good hygeine as you would have wearing lenses.
The DON'Ts
Lift heavy weights
Don't post here if you thin there is something wrong, go to casualty.

You are more than welcome to post, i would just say not to wait for some replies if you are worried!!!
Be careful post graft and be very careful with lifting things. Some things such as lifting shopping can be a problem, but it is a good reason to get someone else to do it!!!! LOL!!!
